Pin to remember this great recipe!

Boosting your immune system is key to fighting off the seasonal allergies, cold, and flu bugs that make their way around schools, workplaces, and your home. It seems that once these bugs start making their way around your family and friends, or co-workers, that it is almost impossible to stop. Thankfully, there are all natural immune system boosters that you can use at home that will help give your body a fighting chance against the seasonal bugs. You will have to adjust your lifestyle around a bit to accommodate what you are going to be doing, but to keep from getting sick every year, it is well worth it.

strawberriesThe best immune system booster that you can achieve all naturally is paying attention to your diet. What you take in on a regular basis has a lot to do with how well your immune system can fight off bacteria and viruses. Without getting the proper nutrition, such as fruits and vegetables that are loaded with antioxidants, you are setting yourself up for huge risk to become sick once the bugs start making their way around. Most fruits are loaded with antioxidants, but two fruits in particular that are rich in them are strawberries and blueberries. These two types of berries, when consumed at breakfast, will give you the best chances at fighting off illnesses naturally.

The next thing that you are going to want to take a step back and look at is how you sleep. If you are not getting adequate amounts of sleep at night, you are severely hindering your bodies ability to properly ward off viruses and bacteria. Your body requires at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep every night to function properly throughout the day, and if you aren’t receiving this amount, you are going to want to figure out how you can adjust your patterns to ensure you are getting more sleep.

The next method for boosting your immune system naturally is by getting proper levels of exercise at least a few times each week. While daily exercise is highly recommended, most people find it incredibly hard to get to the gym, or to workout on a daily basis. For these people, you are going to have to make sure you can work in at least 3-4 days a week of light exercise to help your body function properly, and ensure that you aren’t going to be knocked out of the game when the bugs start making their rounds.

Fighting off winter the winter cold and flu bugs is already hard enough. Thankfully, by practicing these few tips on a regular basis, you will give yourself the best chances at fighting off the seasonal sicknesses that seem to knock everyone down in the fall and early winter. By eating fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants, ensuring that you receive the proper amount of sleep each night, and incorporating light exercise into your daily routine, you will be feeling great through the winter, while everyone else is dealing with the sniffles and sneezes.
